We all want the best for us. Achieving that is impossible without mental fitness. In today's fast paced world, unfortunately, anxiety and depression has become very common.
I learnt to make mental fitness my priority when I was in first year of my college in 2011. I was fortunate to learn a practical and effective tool, derived from the ancient yogic science of breath, to alleviate stress, improve my health and increase my wellness.
Every single day, since 2011, I meditate with Sudarshan Kriya for an average of 45 mins.
This one thing has supported me through the my ups and downs. While there is no technique in the world that can guarantee a perfect life, meditation has certainly made my life better and more joyful.
Sharing a few resources below for the curious to explore:
I also learnt to prioritize my physical health as I grew up. While my childhood intricately involved sports, I made efforts to not let it fall behind as career took over.
I like to run, long-distance, and currently my goal is to run at least equal to a half-marathon every week.
I will add more here as I find the time. But I wanted to share these two things that are important to me and allow me to enjoy what I do at IIT Bombay.
I encourage all my students to make your mental and physical health a priority, if it isn't already. Without a fit mind and body, it's not worth it.
Always happy to share a conversation on how you stay fit - mentally and physically.
