Speaker Bio

Dr Vibhor Pandhare is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay), India. His work sits at the intersection of industrial cyber-physical systems and self-learning systems. Dr Vibhor earned his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Cincinnati, USA, where his research focused on developing privacy-preserving, scalable algorithms for asset servitization in data-scarce environments. Before that, he completed a B.Tech–M.Tech dual degree in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Indore, India, receiving multiple academic recognitions, including the best thesis award from the Indian National Academy of Engineering. He currently leads the Digital Twin & Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (DTAIL) at IIT Bombay, where his group designs scalable digital twins, addresses fundamental challenges in Industrial AI, and develops federated learning–based decision-support systems for complex engineering environments, specifically manufacturing, digital healthcare and defence.
